Klüg is a personal life management app. You trust us with details about your life — your goals, your family, your routines. We take that seriously. We don't sell ANY individual data. Period.

What We Collect
Information you give us directly
· Your name and email address when you create an account
· Household member names and details you add
· Ideas, priorities, actions, rhythms, and any other content you create in the app
· Calendar and schedule information you enter
· Contact / people details you choose to upload or enter into the Relationships feature
· Summarized details from your email, if you connect it, but not actual emails
· Any other personal information you choose to add
Information we collect automatically
· Device type and operating system
· How you use the app — which features you use, how often, in what order, etc.
· Error logs and crash reports — so we can fix things that break
· The date and time of your activity
· Information from third parties
If you connect your email account (Outlook, Gmail), we scan incoming emails to detect actionable items, reminders, trip details. We access only what is needed to provide this feature. We do not store your emails — we extract actionable information and discard the rest.
If you connect a calendar, we read event data to populate the app. We do not store calendar data beyond what is needed to display it in the app.
What We Don't Collect
We do not collect payment information during beta. Klüg is free during beta for invited users.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
· Provide and operate the Klüg app and all its features
· Power AI insights and suggestions personalized to you
· Improve the app based on how it's used
· Respond to your questions and feedback
· Fix bugs and technical issue
· Send you important information about the app — updates, changes to this policy, security notices
· We do not use your individual data to ever sell to third parties. We may use data in aggregate only – never identifiable, never row level specifics, just aggregated analytics.
AI Features
Klüg uses artificial intelligence to generate personalised insights, suggestions, and assistance. To do this, your app data — your priorities, actions, rhythms, and patterns of use — is processed by our AI systems.
We use Anthropic's Claude API and Open AI API to power AI features. Data sent to this API is subject to their data handling policies. We do not send more data than is necessary to generate a response.
AI-generated insights are suggestions only. They are not professional advice — financial, medical, legal, or otherwise.
When you use Klüg's meal planning features, AI-derived nutrition information is generated as an approximation only. Klüg does not guarantee the accuracy of nutrition estimates and they should not be relied upon for medical or dietary management.
How We Store and Protect Your Data
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We use reputable cloud infrastructure providers to host the app and house all data.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach that affects your data, we will notify you promptly.
Sharing Your Data
We do not sell your data. Ever.
We share your data only in these limited circumstances:
Service providers — companies that help us operate the app, such as cloud hosting, AI processing, and analytics. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.
Legal requirements — if we are required by law, court order, or government authority to disclose your data, we will do so. Where legally permitted, we will notify you first.
Business transfer — if Klüg is acquired or merged with another company, your data may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before this happens and you will have the option to delete your account.
Aggregate analytics – in aggregate only, we may analyze and report trends to third parties. We never share individual data.
We will never share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone whose purpose is to market to you. Gmail data (and from other service providers) is processed by our AI service providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) solely for the purpose of extracting actionable information on your behalf. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose, including training their models. We share only the minimum data necessary to perform this function.
Google User Data
Klüg integrates with Google services to help you manage your life more effectively. This section explains exactly how we handle data accessed through Google APIs.
What we access
If you choose to connect your Google account, Klüg may access:
· Gmail (read-only): We scan your inbox to detect actionable items such as travel bookings, package deliveries, appointments, and household-relevant emails, and surface them in your Klüg dashboard.
· Google Calendar (read-only): We read your calendar events to display them alongside your Klüg tasks, priorities, and life management data in a unified view.
How we use it
· Gmail data is used solely to extract and surface relevant life management information within Klüg. We never read, store, index, or share the content of your emails beyond what is necessary to identify actionable items.
· Calendar data is used solely to display your events within the Klüg calendar view. We never modify, delete, or share your calendar events.
· We never use Gmail or Google Calendar data for advertising, to build profiles for third parties, or for any purpose other than providing Klüg's core features to you directly.
What we don't do
· We do not store your email content. We extract relevant information and discard the rest.
· We do not share your Gmail or Google Calendar data with any third party.
· We do not use your Gmail or Google Calendar data to train AI models. When Gmail content is processed by our AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) to extract actionable items, those providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for model training purposes.
· We do not access your Gmail or Google Calendar data for any purpose beyond the features described above.
Your control
Connecting your Google account is entirely optional. You can disconnect at any time through your Klüg account settings, at which point we will immediately stop accessing your Google data and delete any stored access tokens.
Google API compliance Klüg's use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
· Access your data
· Correct your data — update or fix inaccurate information
· Delete your data — request that we delete your account and all associated data
· Export your calendar data — request your data in a portable format
· Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent to process data, you can withdraw it at any time

Children
Children's Privacy
Klug is designed for users 13 years of age and older. We do not permit children under 13 to create independent accounts on our platform.
Child Profiles Within Family Accounts
Klug allows parents and legal guardians to create child profiles for those under 13 years of age within their household account for the limited purpose of chore tracking and household task participation. These child profiles are not independent accounts. All child profile data is collected, managed, and controlled by the parent or legal guardian who holds the Klug account.
We operate these features in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. § 6501 et seq., and the FTC's COPPA Rule, 16 C.F.R. Part 312.
What We Collect for Child Profiles
When a parent or guardian creates a child profile for a child under 13 years of age, we collect only:
· A name or nickname provided by the parent or guardian
· A birthdate
· School name you provide (to enable parent functionality and organization)
· Upkeep, action, and rhythm completion activity within your household – if set up for the child by you
· Other data chosen by the parent to provide
We do not collect, and have no means of collecting, the following from child profiles for those under 13 years of age:
· The child's email address, phone number, or contact information
· Behavioral data or usage analytics specific to the child
· Any information beyond what is necessary to track actions, upkeep, and rhythm activity
How We Use Child Profile Data
Child profile data is used solely to display and track actions, upkeep, and rhythm assignments within your Klug household. It is never used for advertising to a child, shared with third parties, or used to build profiles beyond your household account.
Parental Consent
Before creating a child profile, the parent or legal guardian is presented with a clear disclosure of what data will be collected and how it will be used. Account creation requires the parent or
guardian to affirmatively confirm that they are the child's parent or legal guardian and that they consent to the limited data collection described.
We do not create child profiles without this affirmative parental consent.
Parental Rights
As the parent or legal guardian of a child under 13 years of age with a profile on Klug, you have the right to:
· Review the information we have collected within your child's profile at any time by accessing your account settings
· Edit your child's profile information at any time
· Delete your child's profile at any time, which will permanently remove all associated data from our systems
· Refuse further collection by deleting the child profile or contacting us directly
· Contact us with questions or requests regarding your child's data

Data Retention
Child profile data is retained only for as long as the child profile exists within your account. When a child profile is deleted, all associated data is permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days. You may request confirmation of deletion by contacting us at gethelp@getklug.com
If We Discover an Underage Independent Account
If we discover or are notified that a child under 13 has created an independent Klug account without parental consent, we will:
· Immediately suspend access to the account
· Delete all data associated with the account promptly
· Notify the parent or guardian if contact information is available

Beta Program
You are using a beta version of Klüg. During beta:
· The app is provided free of charge
· Features may change, be added, or be removed
· You may encounter bugs or unexpected behavior
· Your feedback helps us improve the app
· By participating in the beta, you agree that we may use your anonymized usage patterns to improve the product. We will never share individually identifiable information for this purpose.
Beta Program Confidentiality
By participating in the Klug beta program, you agree to keep all non-public features, functionality, design elements, and product roadmap information you encounter strictly confidential. This includes, but is not limited to, unreleased features, AI-generated insights, interface designs, and any information shared by Klug or its team during the beta period. You agree not to share screenshots, recordings, descriptions, or any other representations of beta-only features with third parties — including on social media, in the press, or in any public forum — without prior written consent from Klug. This confidentiality obligation survives the termination of your beta access and remains in effect until the relevant features are made publicly available by Klug. Klug reserves the right to revoke beta access for any participant who violates these terms.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Klüg grows and changes. When we make significant changes, we will notify you in the app and update the effective date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of Klüg after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.

A Final Note
Klüg exists to help you live a more considered life. The last thing we want is for privacy concerns to get in the way of that. If something in this policy is unclear, or if you have a concern we haven't addressed, just ask. We're a small team building something we believe in, and we'll always try to do right by you.
